Washam, founder and developer of
Under the Willow Tree is actually
walking the walk and living the life
through her own country living
experience. Her dream with Under the
Willow Tree is to inspire others to
slow down and enjoy country living
no matter where you are.
Born and raised in Buffalo, New York
and then relocating to the "big
city" chaos of south Florida at the
age of 11, Shell knows both sides of
the coin.
In 2003, the newly re-married, web
designer mom of 3 and her new
husband,
a retired special agent began
dreaming about what it would be like
to live in the country. Both Michele
and her husband Mike discussed the
pro's and con's of going from the
hectic traffic jammed, fast-paced
lifestyle to a life of quiet
serenity surrounded by nature and
mountains. It took them all of
3-days to decide and within a few
weeks Mike was headed to the east
Tennessee Smokey Mountains armed
with Internet printouts of the
mountain dream house Michele had
found.
The mission was successful! Within 2
months the family moved fro their
Mediterranean pool home in Palm
Beach county, Florida to their new
heaven on earth nestled in the
foothills of the Great Smokey
Mountains.
Shell's dreams of living a country
life came true! She started adapting
to small town living and soon
learned all of the secrets her new
southern lady friends had to share
like canning, quilting, gardening
and more!
In 2009, with the world economic
crisis, Michele decided to utilize
her web design talents to create an
Internet television portal, one of
the first if its kind. But her
creativity didn't end there. Always
a visionary and having already
written and published 2 books,
Michele decided to produce one of
the FIRST country Living programs to
inspire others who love living the
simple life and to educate those who
longed to learn how. Michele
believes that it doesn't matter
where you live, you can still enjoy
the simplicity of country living.
Her vision of a web show based on
the comfortable lifestyle is fast
becoming a reality! In early 2011
the first segments will broadcast on
the eChannelz Internet Television
platform and using state-of-the-art
technology will be available to
traditional television viewers as
well.

In light of the current economic
situation and the need to live a
more simple life, it's our mission
to inspire others, educate them and
assist them in "downsizing" without
the anticipated stress one would
expect when going from living in a
material world to enjoying the
simple yet long forgotten way of
life.
